The Denon AVR-X3800H 9.4-Channel Network A/V Receiver with Dymension DM70 Floorstanding Speaker Kit, includes the AVR-X3800H receiver and a pair of Definitive Technology’s Dymension DM70 speakers. This combination is designed for those looking for an out-of-the-box immersive listening experience, with the ability for future home theater expansion. Alone, the DM70 speaker’s front and rear bi-polar speaker array fill the room with sound, while the side-firing 10″ woofer with dual 8″ radiators easily takes the place of a dedicated subwoofer. The X3800H can ultimately support four dedicated subs for immense bass response, and it’s Atmos/DTS:X decoding is ready for the expansion capabilities of the DM70 speakers via their top height channel ports.
Denon AVR-X3800H 9.4-Channel Network A/V Receiver
Home theater enthusiasts with larger rooms will enjoy the capabilities of the AVR-X3800H 9.4-Channel Network A/V Receiver from Denon. Filling your space is easy with support for 9.4-channel audio, or you can go for a more immersive experience with Auro 3D and a 5.1.4 Dolby Atmos setup. Every channel receives up to 105W of power and every HDMI input supports up to 8K resolution sources, as do two of the three outputs. Even with so much, you get even more flexibility if you need it with a pre-amplifier mode and the ability to process up to 11.4 channels. Not only can the X3800H be the center of your theater room, but also the center of your whole home, with Wi-Fi & Bluetooth wireless connectivity and HEOS built-in whole-home audio.
HEOS Built-In
If you have HEOS-compatible speakers in your home, you can wirelessly stream online music to any of them and control it all with the HEOS app or your voice via Google Assistant. Please note that Google Assistant voice control is only available in the U.S..
Pre-Amplifier Mode
For more sophisticated arrangements, you can put the X3800H into pre-amplifier mode and utilize your own dedicated amplifier to power audio channels. This mode is flexible enough to let you disconnect specific speaker channels, letting the built-in amplification of the X3800H handle some while your external amp handles the rest. The result is a customized experience with a potentially cleaner signal path and more tolerance.
Next-Gen Gaming
When hooking up a video game console, you’ll enjoy support for VRR (Variable Refresh Rate), ALLM (Auto Low Latency Mode), and QFT (Quick Frame Transport). These technologies help to reduce latency, automatically trigger your TV’s game mode, and will automatically alter the refresh rate in real time.
AirPlay 2 & Siri
For Apple device owners, you can stream content to the X3800H using AirPlay 2. You can also group any AirPlay-compatible speakers you may have for whole-home streaming.
Amazon Alexa
If you own an Echo, Dot, or other Alexa-compatible speaker, you can control the X3800H with your voice. Speak commands to adjust the volume, skip tracks, switch inputs, and more.
Hi-Res Audio via USB
Another way to play back music is via the from USB-A port. Connect an optional flash drive for Hi-Res Audio playback up to 24-bit/192 kHz, with support for MP3, WMA, WAV, MPEG-4/AAC, FLAC, and ALAC formats.
Multi-Source/Multi-Room
Supporting two-zone audio, the Denon AVR-X3800H will let you pair a second set of speakers in another room. One room can playback a source in 7.1, while the other plays in 2-channel stereo. When set up, each room can listen to their own audio source.
Room Calibration
Using the Audyssey MultiEQ XT32 suite of EQ software and included Audyssey measuring microphone, you can precisely calibrate your speaker system to your specific room. For even more fine-tuning and customization, you can change what’s provided with the Audyssey MultiEQ Editor app. With a planned future firmware update and a fee, you can also use Dirac Live calibration.
Bluetooth Transmitter
If it’s late at night and you want to watch a movie without disturbing anyone, you can pair your favorite Bluetooth headphones to the AVR-X3800H. As an added bonus, you can stream to headphones and use your speaker system simultaneously. This is ideal for letting someone who’s hearing impaired enjoy via headphones, as everyone else listens through the speakers.
360 Reality Audio
With Sony’s 360 Reality Audio technology, you can play back compatible tracks through the AVR-X3800H for true 360° spatial audio. Individual instruments, vocals, and even audience sounds are placed around you to make you feel like you’re at a live performance, or in the studio with the band.

Definitive Technology Dymension DM70 3-Way Floorstanding Speaker
Get the best of both worlds when you build a home theater surround system with the large-sized Dymension DM70 3-Way Floorstanding Speaker from Definitive Technology. The speaker combines bi-polar speaker arrays with a 3XR-optimized active 10″ subwoofer/dual passive radiator system with a 250W (peak) Class-D amp. Together they fill your room with immersive and lifelike sound, and a booming bass you can feel—no extra subwoofers required.
The front- and rear-facing bi-polar arrays consist of a pair of 5.25″ midrange woofers and a 1″ tweeter each. Complimenting the powerful low-end with crisp highs, detailed mids, and an overall balanced sound throughout the room. To elevate your surround experience even further, a top-mounted connection can accept an optional DM90 height module.
Dolby Atmos & DTS:X Ready
When you’re ready to take your home theater system to the next level, you can pop the top panel of the DM70 to expose a speaker connection that is designed to accommodate a DM90 height module. Intelligent Bass Control
You can control the level of bass you want via a dedicated knob on the DM70, but don’t worry about turning it up. BDSS & Linear Response Waveguide
The four 5.25″ midrange woofers in the DM70 feature BDSS (Balanced Double Surround System) and Linear Response Waveguide technology. Together, they improve sound excursion, midrange detail, and extend off-axis dispersion, resulting in a large and immersive soundstage.
