I bought this to replace a Boox Poke3 that died. The form factor is essentially the same. As an improvement, it has a screen light the Poke 3 didn’t. It is, however, more sluggish than the Poke3. A big software improvement is that Google Play is already installed.

Go 6 is based on Android, so you can download any app from the Google Play Store. If you want to read e-books from foreign bookstores or sources other than Amazon, it’s a good option. However, if you only use Kindle, it’s better to buy a Kindle because it’s much faster. But, Kindle can only read Kindle books. Personally, I’m happy with the Go 6 since I use Korean e-book apps.
The downside is the limited RAM. With just 2GB, even with an Octa-Core CPU, it can’t fully utilize its performance. This results in slower speeds compared to devices with more RAM. Nevertheless, considering its lower price compared to the POKE 5 and slightly better specs, it’s currently the best value for money.

My husband got this for me as a gift because our library uses Cloud Library for ebooks and my Kindle isn’t compatible with that. It’s a great alternative to Kindle! I rated it 4 stars instead of 5 because it’s not very fast, but it works great when used primarily as an e-reader. The battery life is great so far and I love being able to have other apps, like Goodreads right on my eReader too.

Long time Kindle Oasis user that reads a ton of side loaded content via Calibre. I wanted a smaller ereader for slipping into a pocket for a quick read at a dinner or a doctor’s office but couldn’t justify a Boox Palma (but man I wanted to… it is so slick!) after weeks of youtube reviews and eGoodRead articles I could easily see that Boox Go 6 gave me the most bang for the buck. You can throw almost any ebook format file type at the built in e reading app neoreader (youtube videos for how to use available). I can add books multiple ways (side load, download or via a micro sd card).
Some people talk about how slow it can be when running games or other android apps, but since my gaming on android is mostly puzzles based it is fine. I have read about twenty epub books on the device and enjoyed it greatly. Good battery life but not kindle range but more than enough for long weekend of reading. I’ve been very impressed with the Boox brand and if I had a sudden winfall I wouldn’t pause to but one of their highend model after testing the waters with the Boox Go 6.

The Go 6 is a decent E-reader, and I like it very much. I especially appreciate the ability to expand the memory with a micro SD. Getting the Kindle app from the play store, and reading my Amazon books works great. I was also able to get the Barnes Noble Nook app, but that one will not complete the sign-in to my account. Thus, this is almost what I wanted. I was hoping for an e-reader to access ALL of my digital books from different companies, as well as Libby. Hopefully, in the future the Nook sign-in issue will be corrected.
