I used the boox tablet as a laptop replacement. My previous laptop was a Dell Latitude convertible, which had a battery didn’t hold much charge. The boox tablet is lighter and thinner, and doesn’t overheat. It does most jobs I used to work with a laptop, such as web browsing, emails, reading books, taking notes, editing documents, etc. However, I don’t think it supports connecting to a projector using a video cable to make presentations. It can cast screen if the projector supports it. Otherwise, making presentations will be a problem.

I hesitated on spending the $$ as I already own multiple e-readers, but I’ve been wanting one with color and a larger screen. I have Kindles, Kobos, and Nooks, but this blows them all away. My primary use is for reading, so bear that in mind when reading this. I understand the limitations of e-ink devices and also own an iPad, so I wasn’t expecting a similar performance from this. That being said, the newer processor is FAST. Pages load quickly when reading documents and also when web browsing. There is ghosting, but you can minimize that with the various performance settings. I don’t find it an issue. Reading on this is a joy and I actually love the aesthetic of the subdued colors, reminds me of newsprint. Battery life is definitely not as long as my readers, but I’m still getting two to three days of heavy usage from it, with WiFi on and light around 3/4 brightness. Being able to load all my reading apps, Kindle, Kobo, Google, Nook is wonderful! If you’re an avid reader I highly recommend!
