Watch movies at home the way the director intended by using the HT2060 2300-Lumen Full HD LED DLP Home Theater Projector from BenQ. Using Filmmaker Mode and CinematicColor, movies are not altered and are given precise coloring to achieve the director’s original vision. Thanks to DCI-P3 and 98% Rec.709 color coverage, those colors at 1080p HDR resolution look even more lifelike. In addition to movies, the HT2060 can display TV shows and video games at big-screen sizes, reaching screen sizes up to 150″.
Filmmaker Mode
This mode preserves the correct aspect ratio, color, and frame rates while disabling all post-processing image enhancement capabilities to preserve the director’s original vision.
Image Adjustment
To achieve a display with the proper sizing, you can achieve a straight-edged image using lens shift to vertically shift the image by 10%. You can also use the 1.3x zoom to fit the image to your screen or wall, and 2D keystone correction to eliminate the trapezoid effect.
Internal or External Audio
With dual 5W chambered speakers, you don’t need to supply the HT2060 with anything but your media. However, if you want to use your existing audio system, external 5.1-channel surround is supported via an S/PDIF output.
Additional Features
- Low 16.7 ms latency for smooth fast-paced gaming
- 2 x HDMI 2.0b inputs
- Accepts 4K content

Upgraded from an old Epson PowerLite Home Cinema 640. Love the BenQ! I’ve been using the Filmmaker mode with Blu-ray dvds (Thin Red Line, No Country for Old Men, In Cold Blood) and they look spectacular. Between the Eco and Smart Eco energy saving modes, I think it’s best to stick with regular Eco as the Smart Eco has too many color shifts within the same shot as it’s programed to try and compensate between dark/light scenes. A hi-contrast scene will fluctuate the output of the lamp which makes it very distracting. But overall, the contrast is beautiful. The blacks are deep and colors, rich. Very happy with the purchase. Would definitely recommend.

I’ve been enjoying this projector for the past few weeks now and I am completely satisfied with its performance. Read avsforum.com and user/reviewer sage11x who has done a thorough review on it and see if it’s for you. It replaced my aged Marantz 12VPS4. Couldn’t be more satisfied.

I use this projector and an old-fashioned slide projector screen to watch movies, YouTube clips, and news in my living room, connecting my laptop to the projector with a separately sold HDMI/HDMI cable. Right out of the box without any adjustments, the images had beautiful contrast, resolution, and color tone. Quiet machine while it runs. The brightness is not quite as powerful as projectors one would find at a school or workplace, but I still could enjoy a show just fine if I closed the drapes on a sunny day. At night, it gives a great cinematic experience. Haven’t tried its audio system yet because I have a Bluetooth speaker I like, but I read that this projector has nice sound. This replaced a BenQ W1070 that I had for ten years, but got damaged in an accident (family life is crazy sometimes). I’m hanging it from the ceiling to project onto a 120 screen.
Even in ECO mode the image is plenty bright enough for my room in the dark. However, it does get washed out with the window blinds open and the lights on. I’m picky. My wife doesn’t have a problem with the way it looks with the lights on.
The projector is quiet in ECO mode, but does get louder in Normal mode. I sit right beneath it, but even in Normal mode I can only hear it during quiet parts of a movie. Not a distraction.
The blacks are deeper than the older projector. The colors look good in Filmmaker Mode but in Bright Mode they have a green tint.
My teenagers play first person-shooters using the PlayStation. They have not complained about lag, so I’m assuming its latency is acceptable for video gaming.
I wish there was more vertical lens shift, but at this price range this is pretty typical. Lens zoom works as advertised. The automatic keystone correction was magical and simplified setup.
I think it’s silly that they build in a speaker for a home theater projector. But I did try them out before hooking it up to my A/V Receiver. They sounded way better than I expected. I’d say they sound as good as a mid-range Bluetooth speaker.

Went for this direct upgrade to gain HDR support and to ease using my Zidoo between PJ and 4K TV. Without any tweaking the image has a noticeable improvement and immediately justified the purchase. Couple that with vibrant colors, easily switching between HDR and Filmmaker, and LED over bulb, it was ab easy decision. I’m using on one of the cheapest Elite Manual pull downs and it still looks great.
Keeping my HT2050A for future use, but the HT2060 is a great intro PJ at 1080 under $1K without jumping to 4K. Highly recommended.
