At first glance the 5th gen black anthracite-colored Beoplay A9 Wireless Speaker System from Bang & Olufsen looks like a piece of art or stylish home décor, which is the point, but inside B&O have crafted a powerful wireless speaker system for your home. The A9’s 5th generation update upgrades Wi-Fi & Bluetooth connectivity as well as overall power to a room-filling 1500W. What remains is a robust seven-driver system with rear-firing drivers that take advantage of reflective acoustics for a larger sound stage.

B&O have also incorporated Active Room Compensation technology that helps the A9 optimize sound quality based on the unique characteristics of the room, such as its shape, size, and the furniture inside. You can utilize Apple AirPlay, Google Chromecast (built-in), Google Cast, Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax), or Bluetooth 5.3 compatible devices to stream your favorite music, podcasts, or audio books to the A9.

Active Room Compensation
B&O wants you to have the best experience possible with the Beoplay A9. To that end they have incorporated Active Room Compensation technology, which utilizes an external microphone to analyze your room and the items in it. It takes the reflected audio signals and creates a set of user-defined filters that compensate for them. The result is engineered to tailor the sound output of your Beoplay A9 to that specific environment.
Beolink Multi-Room Support
The 5th generation of Beoplay A9 features support for B&O’s multi-room speaker technology. This means that when joined by other multi-room B&O products over your home’s Wi-Fi network, you can choose to play different audio in different rooms, or play the same audio throughout your entire home. Imagine seamlessly listening to music or enjoying an audiobook without interruption as you traverse from room to room. 

Controlling the entire experience can be conveniently done with your smartphone and the Bang & Olufsen app. Use it to control the A9, adjust EQ, play music via Chromecast, Apple AirPlay, Bluetooth-compatible drives, or play music directly from the app via streaming services such as Spotify and TuneIn.
