Yes, the remote operation is greatly improved. I truly hated the previous one. However, when you dig deeper you find they removed the gyro and accelerometer. No more playing games that require moving the remote around.
Also, no charging cable included. Would be okay if I could use my iPhone cable, but the remote now has a USB-C connector.
Ethernet connector is also now gone on cheaper unit.
Paying less now and getting less now.
(Still glad to have the 4K unit now though)

I decided on Apple TV as it allows me to effortlessly mirror my iPad. In addition, it is able run all the apps I use such as Amazon Prime, Netflix and many more. I love how easy it is to use.

It’s an Apple TV (I have several) – works fine and integrates perfectly into the ecosystem. The remote is much better than previous versions, the extra thickness and extra buttons make it easier to handle.

Great update for anyone upgrading from an older generation unit; works well with phone control, too (for anyone in the Apple iOS ecosystem)

Keeps track of shows you started.

I own several Apple TVs going back to the original. This one is the best yet. The biggest difference is the remote. The form factor over is much easier to handle and doesn’t get lost as easily. Would I upgrade an existing older Appletv 4k for this? No. But if you need one this is a great device that integrates great if you have an Apple ecosystem

As someone who appreciates the finer things in tech (and the occasional classical symphony), the Apple TV 4K is like that perfectly tuned grand piano in a world of digital keyboards. It’s sleek, it’s shiny, and yes, because it’s Apple, it just works.
Replacing an old HD model is like trading in a trusty old horse for a racehorse. You know, the kind that promises not just to get you from point A to B but to do it with a flair that makes you feel like you’re gliding. That’s the Apple TV 4K experience. It’s not just about streaming your favorite shows in ultra-high definition; it’s about doing it with the panache that only Apple can deliver.
The setup? As smooth as the opening notes of Beethoven’s Fifth. The interface? More intuitive than a maestro conducting an orchestra. And the picture quality? Let’s just say it’s like watching the world through a freshly polished window – crisp, clear, and vibrant.
Streaming in 4K HDR with Dolby Atmos sound support is the digital equivalent of a front-row seat at the symphony. Whether you’re binging the latest series or revisiting a classic movie, the experience is immersive. It’s like the difference between hearing a recording and sitting in the concert hall – you feel every beat, every nuance.
But what about the WiFi issues that plagued the old model? Vanished! The new Apple TV 4K connects like it’s got a direct line to the internet gods. No more buffering symphonies or pixelated operas.
Of course, it’s not just about watching. It’s about interacting. The Siri Remote is your baton – wave it, and the Apple TV 4K responds with the obedience of a well-trained orchestra. The touch surface is as responsive as a virtuoso pianist’s fingers on the keys.
It’s like having your personal tech concierge. They understand your needs, appreciate your taste for high-quality gadgets, and deliver them with a service that’s as seamless as the Apple ecosystem itself.
So, in conclusion, the Apple TV 4K is more than just a streaming device; it’s a statement. A statement that says, I appreciate the finer things in life, and I expect my technology to keep up with my standards. And keep up it does, with the grace and reliability of a well-composed symphony.

I’m not an Apple fan, but this Device is clearly very high quality with a clean interface (sure, some things can be done even better) that helps me track what I am watching over multiple services. I’ve read that the previous generation has lasted eight years for people who bought them at the start. Since I additionally watch streams that need to be upscaled on my end due to bandwidth limitations at the source, I can attest that this little, cool, silent box does an excellent job upscaling content from a lower bitrate as well.
I do wish the on/activity white LED in front could be entirely disabled: unless I am missing the option to do so, I will resort to a piece of black electrical tape to fix that.
The quality clearly stands above that of the other devices like Roku, Chromecast, Fire TV, or TiVo who tend to break in part or whole early and often, and offer fewer features and poorer upscaling. Apple’s products may be overpriced, but you’re getting what you pay for with the competition. The lack of ads, suggestions, and honoring my privacy choices mean I’m happy to have purchased this unit and will continue to purchase these as needs arise.

It’s an Apple TV. It’s solid, fast, and has excellent quality apps. The USB-C remote control? Just glorious. Die a fiery death Lightning port!

The 4 K 64 GIG Apple TV is fantastic. The remote is definitely improved. It is quick, works well and setup was easy with exception 1. None of the app passwords migrated from the first 4K Apple TV and there was no way to retrieve them from the phone as the keychain function is not included in the TVOS. Exception 2 was no Ethernet port. This was fine for our kitchen location, but not for our game room area that has diminished WIFI but an Ethernet switch. Our original Apple TV is Ethernet connected along with the home theater and television.

The UI is super nice with no ads. The remote is super responsive. The only gripe is it gets lost in the sofa, but guess I signed up for this.

A nice upgrade from the cheaper Roku Express that still serves me well.
The Apple TV is fast when launching and switching between apps, and the interface is minimalistic and free of ads, which I appreciate.
Airplay works beautifully if you’re streaming from your Mac, and I have noticed no audio lag.
The remote has touch-like features that didn’t take me long to get used to and I find myself preferring them over the normal arrow keys.
This model does not have a USB port so anything you want to send to it needs to be done wirelessly. This issue doesn’t bother me personally but it may bother some, so I would recommend checking out the Nvidia Shield for a high-end player if you want to plug in your content directly.
All in there are not enough drawbacks to lower my rating to a 4. I would say you may want a remote case to make it less slippery, but those are dirt cheap.
BH was fast on shipping and perfect on packaging as usual.

I replaced a much older Apple TV with this model. Very happy with the upgrade. It works well and is pretty easy to navigate the OS. I have a lot of Apple products, so it’s nice being in the same ecosystem.
My only complaint continues to be the remote. I wish the buttons were backlit so I didn’t have to find the right button by memory when in the dark. I guess I could always use my iPhone to control it, but it’s not always in the living room with me.
