Take the hassle and worry out of playing vinyl with the TD 101 A Fully Automatic Two-Speed Turntable from THORENS. With its fully automatic system, simply press the Start button and the TD 101 A will automatically lift, move, and place the aluminum tonearm onto your record. Once playback is over, it will automatically lift the tonearm and put it back on its holder. All you have to worry about is whether you want to play a full album or a 45. The built-in switchable MM phono preamp also makes things easy by giving you the ability to connect the TD 101 A straight to a pair of active speakers, or your existing receiver that’s equipped with passive speakers.
Belt Drive
The belt drive motor can spin the platter at 33 1/3 or 45 rpm, letting you play both 7″ and 12″ records. The belt drive system keeps the motor out from under the platter, helping to reduce any unwanted vibration from being picked up by the pre-assembled AT-3600 Audio Technica cartridge.
Dust Cover
Included with the TD 101 A is a removable acrylic dust cover. When in place, it helps to keep the platter and components clean when the turntable is not in use, and helps shield your spinning vinyl during playback.

Sound quality seems nice for this bottom-of-the-line Thornes. The entry level elliptical cartridge does an adequate job w/ range. However, am concerned when German based Co. includes no warranty or registration info…. and has little info on adjustments for tracking etc.
