Inspired by acoustic handpans while offering modern versatility without the need for music training, the Roland Mood Pan is a digital percussion instrument with nine touch- and pressure-sensitive pads that can be played with your fingers. Ideal for meditation and musical explorations, the Mood Pan offers eight presets, four user slots, and 12 culturally varied tuning styles.

By adjusting the position and manner in which you strike a pad with your finger, you can alter the resonance and tonality of the sound, while a special control pad provides further expressivity. The eight sampled instrument sounds range from classic handpan to tongue drum, gamelan, singing bowl, and more. The 12 tuning styles include major, minor, Japanese, Indian, Aegean, and more, and each pad can be assigned its own tuning. The integrated 4.5W speaker lets you share your sounds with the room, whether playing the instrument or using the Mood Pan as a portable Bluetooth speaker, and the headphone jack lets you make things private when needed. The USB-C jack can provide both bus power and MIDI support for using the Mood Pan as a control pad. And with the Mood Pan Plus app, everything can be easily customized and controlled. The Mood Pan is battery powered and includes six AA alkaline batteries to get you started.

Tap and Connect
Mood Pan is played with your fingers, directly connecting you with sound. The nine pads can be assigned to different musical scales, making it impossible to hit a wrong note. 

It’s also possible to play the sides with your palms to create percussive sounds and resonant tonalities. Glide through expressive aural journeys by tapping spontaneous melodies, muting sounds with a touch, and using the special control pad to add expressive colors to certain tones.

Soothing Sounds
With Mood Pan, you can change the sound at any time. Select a traditional handpan sound, or call up other acoustic percussion such as tongue drum, gamelan, crystal bowl, or singing bowl. There’s also a sitar voice for exploring Indian textures, orchestral strings, synth pad tones, and four user locations with selectable sound variations.
Serene Soundtracks
Mood Pan includes environmental music and nature sounds for background and playing along, along with four modes that provide tranquil sounds for mornings, evenings, relaxing, and yoga sessions. It also doubles as a high-quality Bluetooth speaker for streaming music from your favorite mobile devices.
Mood Pan Plus App
The Mood Pan Plus app is the perfect partner to extend your Mood Pan experience. Adjust the onboard sounds to your taste, choose different environmental sounds and effects, and fine-tune the pads for your personal touch. The app also includes additional sounds that you can load into Mood Pan’s four onboard user locations.
