I bought this player when it first came out and have never had a problem until I had remodeling construction done in my home. Now it skips and I am going to purchase another just like it! If I could find someone to work on it, I’d keep it another ten years (or how ever many).

Great value. Works great with many types of cd’s, including homemade. Great value.

I have had this cd changer for a week, and I am very happy with the performance. The sound is excellent. The only thing that could be better is the time it takes to change to the next disc and start playing. It is about 15 or 20 seconds before the music starts. Other than that, overall performance is excellent, and I would recommend it to everyone.

I bought this to replace my 13 year old SONY Changer @ it would not read some discs, namely those recorded on LightScribe CD’s. This Onkyo reads everything. I tried Marantz CC-4001 and Denon DCM-290 changers and neither would read LightScribe CD’s. Only had a few days but am very happy so far…Suggest using right-angle RCA adapters for audio cables to maximize space between back of unit and a cabinet.

Very large unit especially in depth. It required cutting a hole in my cabinet but I expected that. A little cumbersome to locate MP3 tracks by number using the included remote. I had better luck using my Onkyo receiver’s remote. Very high quality. I like it

HARLEY –
I’ve only had this cd changer for a couple weeks, but it was easy to set up and synced with my Onkyo Receiver, so I only have to use one remote. You can keep playing one disc while changing 5 others. Easy to use.

I have had this product only for a few weeks, and the first impressions are all positive. It responds fast to commands. It also recognizes the discs reasonably fast. The audio sounds beautiful (maybe this is psychological, but it sounds much better than the previous systems I owned). Yes, it is a bit deep, as some reviewers pointed out, but not that much deeper than other good quality hi-fi amplifiers that one expects to stack them with. In any case, an open backed furniture would help. I never found Onkyo remotes to be very ergonomic, and this one is no exception, but it is at least simple, so it is OK. The front design has this illuminated green curve-design plastic (LED perhaps) right in the center. It has no functional purpose, is too bright to be decorative, and is really distracting. It makes the unit look cheesy and cheap (and it really is not). Still, I gave 5 stars because the sound is so good.

The player is larger than my single play player, but to be able to play six discs without having to change them is great. It was only a matter of minutes to set up right out of the box. So far it has worked flawlessly.

Beautiful design, more functions than I need, heavy duty solid in weight and feel, smooth and mesmerizing as its tray glides and slides back in and out, twenty-five percent off a surprise, if I needed two, I would. Doesn’t vibrate and scratch CDs as the item replaced did, again, because this is heavy and solid unit. I got lucky!

I bought this unit recently because I was looking for a dedicated CD player to replace my old Onkyo unit that it served me bravely for 13 years. It functions smoothly and flawlessly right out of the box. When coupled with my Onkyo receiver through the digital coaxial out, the sound is tight and true to the source material. I have had no problems with CD recognition or playback, and the overall aesthetics of the unit (aluminum face, display, dimmer, etc.) are outstanding.

Use daily, and we have had not issues. Works well. Simple design, but sometimes simple is better. Not so great – Always starts at disc 1 not the last disc played. Mentions MP3 compatible – reads MP3 compatible discs. You cannot plug your MP3 player into it.

This 6-disc CD Carousel Changer by Onkyo is so much more than I expected. I replaced an older 5-disc player and was so surprised at the difference in clarity. I can actually hear instruments on my Christmas CD’s that I’ve never heard before. Even my friends were impressed. Although I did not personally install it, my friend had no problems at all. Price wise was an excellent buy. It has many features my older one did not. My older CD 5-disc carousel changer was not a Onkyo and perhaps that is the difference in the quality of sound. If you are thinking of purchasing this carousel CD changer, don’t hesitate to buy. You won’t be sorry! excellent. In fact the CD changer arrived earlier than expected. It was well packed and no damage whatsoever after being shipped from NY to FL.

This is my first Onkyo audio equipment and I was very impressed with the quality of sound and ease of operation. I will definitely buy another Onkyo product in the future.

The Onkyo DXC390 6-Disc CD player produces a great sound. I am glad I bought it and would recommend it to friends and family. I have it connected via RCA connectors. But a couple of short comings. When loading or changing discs it does make a clunking sound, and it takes a few more seconds than I expect before I hear the music play. Also, perhaps because the controls are very different than from my prior CD player, I find the controls are not intuitive. After two weeks I still need to get the manual out if I do anything other than tell it to play a disc. But the sound is good enough that I’m glad I bought it. I have other Onkyo products which is why I bought this one. They all have served me well.

Really like the play/change feature. It’s a very nice unit, great sound quality. Just pleased as punch!

This cd changer is great! The overall sound in this price category can’t be beat. It is getting harder and harder to find quality audio components that aren’t already wrapped up in a video/home entertainment package. This Onkyo really delivers. Easy to set-up, easy to operate, the DXC390 has all of the features I was looking for in an inexpensive cd changer unit. I highly recommend this model to anyone looking for great sound at a great price. This priced well below any competitor was an added bonus. I placed the order on a Sunday and had the unit by Thursday – freight free! Great service at a great price.

Easy to set-up, great sound even playing back mp3’s that I made 128kb

Good Value Easy connect good controls blue light at disk unique Expect it to be deeper than a 5-disk case You must carefully insert disk and seat it properly or skips occur

Bunkey –
I use this cd player for my recorded cd’s. The performance is awesome . The sound quality fits the bill. What is nice with this Onkyo cd player is if you’re listening to a cd you can change 1 or 2 cd’s while it is still playing your cd. No interruptions.

I bought this player to replace a 20 year old Onkyo multi disc player. I particularly like this player because you have the ability to change up to 5 discs while one continues to play. The sound quality is quite good for a multi disc player. Set up is easy the random feature along with play list set up is very useful.

Well designed and solid performance.

Purchased this to replace our 15 year old CD changer that no longer worked. What can you say about it? It does what it should, looks good in our cabinet and was easy to install. Just pulled out the old one and popped this one in its place, although it was a close fit. Since this is a 6-disk changer, it is larger (both thicker and deeper) than most. Be sure to measure your space.

Dr. Bill –
Very compatible with my Onkyo receiver and was priced right. Unfortunately not in stock – waited a month, but I was in no hurry. Photo kept me informed during the wait so no questions developed as to when it would be shipped. I knew it was on backorder at the time of purchase.

Great system…. easy to use…. well made…. specifically with 6 cd capacity one can enjoy listening for hours.

Pola –
I am currently listening to my DXC390, and I am enjoying its ease of use and sound quality. Having six discs loaded at once gives me hours of listening to my own selections and it seems to sound better than the player it replaced, especially at increased volume levels.

Birdingal –
I’m very happy with this CD player – robust! Bought it to replace a 29-year-old Denon 5-CD tray player.
Birdingal –
Linda –
Bought this CD Changer because of the good review on multiple sites. I usually play 6 CDs on random play. Other than a little mechanical noise when choosing tracks, it works very well. It is nice to not have to get up to change the CD after one disc. Very reasonably priced. Well worth the money. Replacing a 30-year-old Magnavox/Phillips player that believe it or not still works great.

Tom Heinrich –
My wife and I replaced our old 5-disc CD Carousel Changer with this one to pair it with our new Onkyo TX-8220 Stereo Receiver. This is an excellent duo. We couldn’t be happier with the quality of the components, or the sound produced, which is extraordinary through our new Elac 3-way floor standing speakers. This is an excellent CD Changer with Onkyo quality and an affordable price.

I’ve always been quite happy with Onkyo’s quality. The changer works flawlessly, its features are more than adequate, the controls are intuitive. A solid product all around.

Seems to work fine. I have only had it for a short time, but it does what I expected. Still getting used to the controls and remote, but no issue at all.

Bought this as a Christmas gift. I set it up to ensure it worked properly and it did. Enjoyed hearing my 6 CD’s. Then I re-boxed it to give for Christmas.

This item seems to work as advertised. I’m not an audiophile; we just wanted a functional disc changer for our old one which stopped working.
Lindsey –
J. Ross –
A very quiet change cycle. Doesn’t seem to add coloration to the sound. But its big, the 17-inch depth doesn’t include the distance the coaxial or optical plugs protrude from the rear. I had to drill a hole in the back of my cabinet for the doors to close!

A very good 6-disc changer, at a good price. Easy to set-up and use, and it provides fine sound. I didn’t realize just how much the audio qualify of my previous unit had deteriorated. I am most interested in the random mode, and it is truly random….. it will jump from one disc to another randomly and play continuously randomly until all tracks are played… and you can use random without using all 6 discs. One drawback I have found is that there is usually a considerable time lag between tracks… more than I had been used to. Overnight delivery was a plus.

I had a Denon CD player that only lasted two-years, so I replaced it with this Onkyo. It seems to be a lot better quality

The settings are on the front of the player and the settings on the remote are simple. This machine is much easier to use than the Sony CD changer it replaced. I recommend this CD player.

Easy to install, no problems. Sound is great, very clear. I highly recommend this Carousel CD player.

Ada –
It works well. It was easy to set up. We got it to replace a 17 year old Sony cd player. We wish it didn’t have an always on red light for the standby mode. All the lights are not necessary especially when you can’t turn them off.

Glen –
Replace Sony 5-disc player that quit opening up to change the disc. This one hold 6 discs so it runs a longer time. So far, it has been very good.
Glen –
Joseph –
I like it better than my Yamaha 5-disc changer (the previous model). The Onkyo has optical and coax digital outputs, Yamaha only has an optical digital output and one less disc capacity. The Onkyo is solid for my system as I run the Onkyo into a DAC.
Joseph –
Dianne –
This is a nice CD changer. I haven’t had any issues with it and the sound is great.

Gary –
The 6-CD changer by Onyx is working flawlessly. I love the multi-function remote and the sound is decent. This replaces my 5-CD changer by Technics which lasted over 40 years. By necessity, this changer is very large. It is so deep it may not work on some shelves, so closely check its dimensions for your situation. I had to drill several extra holes in the back of my cabinet so the player would not stick out in the front so much. The only other thing I did not care for is the song shuffle capability. It works, but the front panel flashes too much information as it randomly selects the next track. It takes too long for each random shuffle and is very distracting if you are watching it.
