Build a future-proof surround sound system, starting with the NAD Electronics M17 V2i 7.1.4-Channel Surround Sound Preamp Processor with MDC. The M17 V2i features twelve fully balanced XLR outputs to connect up to 7.1.4 channels of audio, ready to be partnered with separate power amps, like the NAD M28.

The path to avoiding obsolescence comes by way of NAD’s MDC (Modular Design Construction), that allows for the swapping and upgrading of modules for audio, video, streaming, and whatever the future may hold. This model comes equipped with HDMI, Optical, digital coax, and stereo RCA inputs, along with BluOS streaming capability. The onboard DAC can play back hi-res audio up to 24-bit/192kHz, and supports processing for Dolby Atmos, DTS:X, and DTS-HD Master Audio. In addition to XLR balanced outputs, there are unbalanced RCA outputs for 7.2-channel audio as well as stereo RCA outs for zones 2, 3, and 4. Additionally, Dirac Live full frequency software and calibrated microphone are included to make sure you’re getting the best possible sound from your setup.

Modular Design Construction (MDC)
With MDC, all major digital circuits can be upgraded and replaced to keep the M17 V2i forever young and capable. This NAD innovation is a unique architecture that keeps pace with the fast-changing world of digital formats by allowing connectivity and feature upgrades as newer technologies become available. In fact, this M17 V2i is the previous M17 V2 chassis with new video and audio MDC modules installed. MDC defies premature obsolescence, so you can keep pace with the latest developments in high performance AV through dealer-installed modules. Your M17 V2i can be upgraded as your needs and tastes develop, and you only need to replace the module you want to upgrade, not the entire AV preamp processor.
Flexible Setup
The latest HDMI features, including HDCP 2.2, 4:4:4 color resolution, High Dynamic Range video support, and CEC/ARC, are all included. Digital audio inputs are available in both coaxial and optical formats to make it easy to attach all your digital sources. BluOS makes it easy to add more speakers for listening to music in additional rooms. IR repeaters, 12V triggers to automatically switch amplifiers on and off, and an RS-232 data port make it easy to connect to highly advanced automated control systems, such as Crestron and Control4.
BluOS Streaming
When connected to the Internet via Ethernet or Wi-Fi, the M17 V2i has access to thousands of Internet radio stations and over a dozen high-quality music services including Spotify, Amazon Music, Tidal, Deezer, and many more. With full support for Master Quality Authenticated (MQA) technology, the M17 V2i has high-resolution audio performance combined with high-definition video performance.
