HDAM Technology
The HDAMs are discrete circuit boards designed to replace standard ICs. They consist of discrete surface-mount components with short mirror-image L/R signal paths. They’re designed to do the same thing as op-amps, but outperform them in terms of slew rate and reduced noise level to provide more dynamic, accurate, and detailed sound. The HDAM-SA2 circuit in the CD6007 is engineered to provide a more stable power supply than previous HDAM versions; the idling current stability is less influenced by power transistor temperatures to help maintain sound performance, even at high level output.
Hi-Res D/A Conversion
The CD6007 features a Hi-Res AK4490 digital-to-analog converter, offering two selectable filter options and providing up to 192 kHz / 24-bit PCM and DSD 5.6 MHz resolution for enhanced musical fidelity with tight bass, smooth midrange, and extended highs for CD playback and Hi-Res formats from your USB drive.
High-Current Power Supply
The El-style power supply uses high-speed, high-current Shottky Barrier Diodes and high-value current storage capacitors, which have been increased in size to augment current stability and reduce AC noise during demanding listening sections.
HDAM-SA2 Headphone Amplifier with Headphone Amp Gain Setting
The CD6007 includes a redesigned headphone amplifier section, using the HDAM-SA2 circuit with three gain settings (Low/Mid/High) to match nearly any brand of headphones for an optimal private listening experience. The headphone amp is also equipped with an “Off Circuit” function that automatically turns the headphone amplifier off when headphones aren’t connected to help prevent unwanted interference or noise.
Plays Hi-Res Audio USB Sources
The CD6007 can play MP3, WMA, AAC, WAV, FLAC HD, ALAC, AIFF (up to 192 kHz / 24-bit), and DSD (up to 5.6 MHz) files from a connected USB storage device.
Digital Filter
The CD6007 features a two-mode filter (Filter1/Filter2) that allows for optimized reproduction of digital music content using the onboard DAC to your taste. Filter1 is a slow roll-off preset that enhances deep stereo imaging, while Filter2 is a sharp roll-off filter for more precise imaging.

  1. Lee

This is a very good CD player that will also play mp3 from a USB port. The connected remote control operate all functions. The batteries need to be replaced for optimal communication.

  2. Farrell

This is the best CD player I have ever owned. It has a warm, lush sound and works beautifully. It is well made and solid and lives up to the Marantz brand. For the money, I don’t think anyone could go wrong; get one.

  3. Edward

Waited a year and a half due to the chip shortage, but this unit is worth the wait. Best CD player under four figures. I read the reviews, but I was stunned at how my cds sounded in this puppy. Absolutely delighted.

This is my second Marantz CD 6007. Dispute very favorable online reviews, the first one purchased from another site failed after a week of increasingly frequent failure to read any discs. I discussed alternative CD players with BH technicians, who assured me that it was their recommendation in that price range and they had had few problems with it. This one is working perfectly and sounds better than the Teac I previously owned, and which also had fatal disc reading problems.

Own it for three weeks. So far so good!

I’ve had this player for a couple weeks, after searching for a high quality, simple, and single cd player for over a month. Most units that were from some of the best manufactures had features, and price tags, way higher than I was willing to pay. Just remodeled my office, and it is now an imaging and guitar room. The only place I can find some peace and quiet. This Marantz CD player is perfect. Silent transport, simple controls, unimposing LED panel, exceptional build, and quality components. But the very best is a sound fidelity that cleans away the tinny, harsh treble inherent in cds, at lower power settings and especially on earlier production cds. I know, many of older cds are currently being reproduced with higher quality equipment. But mated with my new Marantz 60n, that beautiful vintage sound and warmth is reproduced and many small scratches on my old cds are not as noticeable as in other players I have had. I have not had one cd skip to this date. Combined with a remote that will also operate my amp, some nice JBL speakers and subwoofer, and a USB A port on the front! I really couldn’t want any more at this price in a cd player. The player is getting more use than my guitars.

Perfect complement to my stereo system. No complaints.

  8. Chris

I purchased the 6007 about a month ago as a replacement for a different CD player still in use. Only a few minutes elapsed between a last playback on the old equipment and my first experience with the Marantz. The difference far exceeded anything I had expected from making this simple change. The sound stage experience is impressive, with greater depth, width, and differentiation between channels, while also lending a 3-D sense to the music. Sound quality is much warmer, resonant, and rounder — truly satisfying. Especially important is that the timbre of the various instruments and voices is clearly differentiated. One can hear performers draw a breath or pluck a string. And performance at the highest and lowest frequencies is excellent, not shrill or muddy.

As a lover of music ranging from rock/folk/jazz to orchestral, opera, and early music this kind of sonic versatility is paramount. The listener is treated to the illusion of sitting near the musicians rather than in front of some speakers. This is one of the best purchases I have ever made.
