Aimed at audiophiles and music enthusiasts, the high-fidelity FiiO K7, styled in black, is a compact desktop USB DAC and truly balanced headphone amplifier designed to faithfully reproduce your music when listening to audio from your computer, smartphone, tablet, or other digital music player. The K7 employs dual high-resolution AK4493S DACs to deliver rich audio details and a superior performance at up to a 384 kHz sampling rate supporting native DSD256. Dual THX AAA 788+ amp chips deliver powerful, nuanced sound.
Equipped with RCA analog line inputs, optical and coaxial digital inputs, a USB Type-B port, RCA analog line outputs, and two headphone jacks, the K7 acts as a bridge between your computer, phone, speakers, and headphones, allowing them to work together seamlessly. Switchable low- and high-gain levels are available, enabling you to use the amplifier with almost any headphones at comfortable volume levels. Constructed from durable aluminum alloy, the elegant design is just over 2″ thick, allowing you to easily place it on modern desktops and workstations.
- The K7 has a six-stage audio circuit with truly balanced analog and digital sections, helping to reduce crosstalk and accurately reproduce your music for a more enjoyable listening experience.
- Using the same THX AAA 788+ amplifiers as the K9 Pro, the K7 is capable of outputting 560mW into a 300-ohm load at 1% distortion. This ensures both low- and high-impedance headphones are powered properly.
- The large volume dial provides precisely tuned gain control over a smooth 112 steps of adjustment.
- The RGB indicator lights are capable of displaying single colors as well as mixed colors, with a unique light flow effect during powering on/off and input switching. Dazzling and vivid light effects add visual spice to your desktop.
- The high- and low-hardware gain levels allow you to easily adjust the K7 to handle headphones of various impedances and sensitivities for rich and consistent listening.
- Two headphone outputs are provided, a 1/4″ unbalanced jack and a 4.4mm balanced connector.
- Unbalanced RCA line inputs and output connectors along with coaxial, optical, and USB digital connectors are on the rear panel
- One key controls switching between the four different inputs, while a second key allows you to switch between three different output modes (for use with headphones, speakers, or as a DAC)
- The K7 features a power design consisting of multiple independent stages, with a voltage of each regulated by low-noise LDOs.
- Feeding this power design is an external 12V switching power supply engineered to provide plenty of clean power for your sonic enjoyment.

This device is a great first step into audio for anyone looking to move beyond just plugging headphones directly into a computer. Being a combination DAC and AMP, it makes it easy, just plug it in and it works. It solved lots of the sound issues that my laptop previously had and can drive my new headphones as well.

I have owned several Fiio products over the years, not because I’m a fan but because they are ubiquitous as audio products. I told myself many times to not buy another Fiio again. The M15 DAP became very slow and ran very hot. The BTR5 had issues when connected by wire. The Q3 had noise when charged over USB. Yet I got a Fiio again for an uncommon use case. I wanted a small DAC/AMP for desktop use at work. I wanted to be able to use both normal headphones and STAX electrostatic speakers. I bought a STAX SRM-270S to drive the STAX headphones. Since the STAX-270S uses a 12V barrel DC input, I want a product using the same connector and voltage so that I can use a linear power supply with dual 12V DC outputs. I searched and found the Fiio K7 the only product that worked for me. So, here I am. It’s not bad at all so far. I think the key is getting rid of the lithium-ion battery. Actually, I almost got a STAX D10. But that’s a battery-powered device. So, NO for desktop use. From now on, I’ll try to avoid any battery-powered audio devices.

Bought this for my HifiMan Edition XS’s, does everything I need it to do, sounds great, and is easy to use. Not much more I could ask for. Will be using this until I need a new one.
