Recently learnt about ultra-short throw projectors. Had been planning to put in a projector in the theater room but was reluctant about the necessary re-wiring, mounting, etc. This projector solved that problem- just put it up and projected on to the screen I had mounted (with help) on the wall. Results to me are identical to that obtained from traditional roof-mounted projectors. It also sort-of makes the projector portable in that I can move it around, though, of course, I may then have to project on to a wall. Image quality is very good and brightness and contrast, etc. are also very good. It does help that I can control the light in my theater room and make it cinema dark if I choose to, but the IQ is acceptable even with some ambient light. Price was reasonable.

Full disclosure – this is my 1st UST projector and I’m projecting onto a wall, not a screen. That said, I’m liking this projector a lot!! It’s quite the experience viewing movies in 110 from a projector that is only maybe 12 from the wall! Colors are great, contrast ratio is good, noise from fan is not an issue (after initial start-up)…. I couldn’t be happier!
If I had to come up with some negatives, maybe these two:
It won’t take much light to stretch the 3600 lumens, so if there’s any ambient light in the room, the picture will be washed out. As such, in lit rooms, projecting onto a screen would be best.
This is not a small unit. I was actually a little surprised at how big this projector is. You will need some surface area to set this on.
