Advanced AL32 Processing Plus
In order to achieve a faithful reproduction of original recordings, Denon’s advanced AL32 Processing Plus technology utilizes algorithms to restore information lost in those digital recordings. It uses data interpolation, up-sampling, and bit-extension to get the job done, with the result being audio free of interference and a rich low-end range.
Proprietary Disc Drive
The S.V.H. (Suppress Vibration Hybrid) mechanism of the disc loader sports a low center of gravity to prevent vibration, and condensed signal paths and circuitry control pickup for minimized decoding noise. This is on top of a reduction of unnecessary controls and current consumption, which all comes together to deliver improved sound quality and maximized accuracy in disc playback.
DAC Master Clock
The precisely crafted master clock includes dual high-quality oscillators with reduced phase noise for 44.1 and 48 kHz sampling frequencies. The master clock also helps to suppress jitter, ensure peak precision in D/A/ conversion, and optimize digital audio circuitry.

I recently sold my beloved but aging Oppo 105D universal player (which I did not use for video, only for 2 channel audio) and decided to replace it with Denon’s DCD-1700NE CD/SACD player. I have never owned a Denon product before. My preamp and amplifier are the Musical Fidelity M6PRE/PRX (the original versions, now 10+ yrs old) and my speakers are 804D2 (also 10+ years old). I always loved the sound I experienced with my Oppo, but I have to say this Denon player has produced a decided and easily perceptible improvement in the sound quality of my system. As long as the DCD-1700NE continues to perform as it has so far, I highly recommend it.
