Andrew –
This is peak iPad – everything is perfect. I will be honest nothing about it is a huge upgrade from the 12.9 2021 Pro. I am hopeful that future iPad OS updates take advantage of the M4 chip to make it stand out more.
The best thing about this iPad is how future proof it is. My favourite feature (no kidding) is the ability to limit its charge to 80% which ensures that battery degradation will be minimal.

Currently didn’t need a performance jump but upgraded for weight savings. Also appreciate shift in camera position. Current iPad Pro was only using 128 M, so lower spec was fine. Really nice hardware. Wouldn’t do it for software but physically attractive option

Get the “nano texture” screen! Don’t misplace the included cleaning cloth. The screen is stunning, especially if you’re sensitive to glare.

The m4 iPad is great, the clarity of the nano screen is awesome. Speed is off the charts. So much space in storage, nothing stops more applications. The Battery could last longer but would probably add more weight. Sleek and light, the pencil addition gives so many options to communicate.

It’s very expensive, but for those who use their iPad constantly it’s well worth the money. Screen is fabulous, and the weight savings vs the older models is noticeable every time you pick it up.

I had the Apple Pro 12.9 and decided to upgrade. This iPad is so thin, and light and the display is super bright!! I’m learning to draw and paint with Procreate and enjoying this new device – love it!!

I hung onto my 2021 M1 iPad till mid 2024. I bought it at the same time with the 2021 M1 MacBook Pro. I upgraded the MacBook Pro from M1 to M3 and to M4 in 2024. I didn’t see any reason to upgrade the iPad until I held one, and after that I couldn’t wait to save money to buy it. It took me a year but it was worth it. I’m now waiting for iPad OS 26. It’s fast, light and I think I will probably not upgrade to the M5 until someone can explain why I should. I have gone through all iterations of the biggest iPads since the first one in 2010.
